What will I learn:
Construction sites have a lot going on. There are trucks coming in and out, workers working next to you or above you, noisy and dangerous equipment and working at heights. This makes the construction site a dangerous environment.
You will learn what safety on a construction site looks like, how to read safety signs, what to do if you come across a hazards, what to do in an emergency and how to wear personal protective equipment like goggles, vests and a hard hard.
The course is based on the national qualification CPCCWHS1001. You will receive both a Statement of Attainment and WA Construction White Card upon successful completion.

About the WA Construction White Card
The Western Australia Construction White Card is a mandatory safety requirement for all workers before they commence any construction work in WA. It is based on the national unit of competency CPCCWHS1001 — Work Safely in the Construction Industry, and is issued by a registered training organisation (RTO) accredited with ASQA.
Australia White Card (RTO 91534) delivers the WA White Card fully online. Once you enrol, you can start immediately — there are no set class times. You complete the course at your own pace, typically in 4–6 hours.
Who Needs a WA White Card?
Anyone who performs construction work in Western Australia must hold a current White Card before they start. This includes:
- Labourers, apprentices, and trades workers on construction sites
- Subcontractors visiting or working on a construction site
- Supervisors and site managers
- Owner builders undertaking their own construction work
- Anyone required by their employer to hold a White Card before starting on site
The card is required regardless of how long you will be on site. Even a one-day visit to a construction site may require a valid White Card.
How Long Does the WA White Card Take?
The course typically takes 4 to 6 hours to complete online. You can save your progress and return at any time — there is no time limit. Once you pass the online assessment, your Statement of Attainment and WA White Card are issued.
What Equipment Do I Need?
To complete the WA White Card online with Australia White Card, you will need:
- A computer, laptop, or smartphone with a camera and microphone
- A hard hat, safety goggles, high-visibility vest, and ear protection (PPE)
- A reliable internet connection
If you do not have the required PPE, we can post a kit to you for $50. Contact us before enrolment to arrange this.
Is My WA White Card Valid in Other States?
Yes. A White Card based on CPCCWHS1001 is nationally recognised and accepted in all Australian states and territories. Your WA White Card is valid if you move or work interstate. You will not need to retake the course.

Do I need to be in WA to do the course online?
Yes — to complete the WA White Card online, you must be living or working in Western Australia. If you are in another state, please check our state-by-state guide for the appropriate course.
How quickly will I receive my White Card after completing the course?
Your Statement of Attainment is issued digitally shortly after you pass the assessment. Your physical White Card is posted to you and typically arrives within 5–10 business days.
Can I work on a construction site while waiting for my card to arrive?
Yes — your Statement of Attainment serves as proof of completion and can be used on site while you wait for the physical card to arrive.
What happens if I fail the assessment?
You can reattempt the assessment as many times as needed at no extra charge. We want you to succeed — additional attempts are included in the course fee.
Is the WA White Card the same as the Construction Induction Card?
Yes. The White Card, Construction Induction Card, and General Construction Induction Card all refer to the same certification. They are different names for the same nationally recognised qualification based on CPCCWHS1001.
